years
I was still a big player. But over time, I got tired of just playing PC games and started thinking about what was going on in the background, how games worked...
I was a big fan of World of Warcraft, and managed to get on the development team of a then-popular free server that ran on the open source Trinity framework. I learned how to work with MySQL databases, script in C++, and discovered my favorite PHP :)
I also started working on fun translations of games with various Slovak and Czech groups of translators and programmers.
I had successfully completed an electrical engineering high school in the field of TIS and started thinking about which direction to take.
Since I was very close to technology and a very good opportunity presented itself, I started working as a universal sales consultant for an unnamed retail chain that was just launching a new store concept.
I expanded my understanding of technology, learned how to interact with people, and gained experience working with POS systems, warehouse management, invoicing, etc.
Later I got to the position of a computer service technician, where I got acquainted with working with network equipment: MikroTik and Cisco devices, Linux servers...
Although I enjoyed working with technologies, I knew that my path was not going to lead there... I was led in an artistic direction from a young age, I liked to model, paint, draw... this work was not creative enough for me and I was determined that I wanted to pursue programming for a long time.
I started working as a web developer and graphic designer, which included creating and managing websites, graphic designing websites for clients and developing corporate IS.
Although I haven't stopped doing web in my spare time, I have finally "officially" started doing what I enjoy... OR NOT?
Working with graphics and web development is fine, but more and more often I started to encounter problems when I wanted to customize parts of the site according to myself, but since I was still working with ready-made corporate IS/CMS, I had to shift my requirements to other programmers... and wait.
How about putting the frontend aside and start looking deeper into the backend? So I started working on my own information systems and web applications, started creating user interfaces, and got fully into PHP. However, with more complex and extensive projects, I realized that "coding it from the ground up" is not always the happiest solution. So I started to get interested in PHP frameworks. Symfony and Laravel intrigued me quite a bit, and I've stuck with Symfony to this day.
I am always available for any project suiting my skills.
